Our Story
At IndiePracha, every fibre tells a story - of hands that create, hearts that feel, and nature that inspires.
Born from the creative soul of Prachi, a wet felting artist from India, Indie Pracha began as a small studio exploring the slow, mindful art of transforming wool into beautiful, sustainable, wearable pieces. Each scarf, bag, or jacket we make carries the warmth of handmade craft unique, soulful, and kind to the earth.
But Indie Pracha is more than just a design studio it’s a movement of empowerment.
In Satara District of Maharashtra, we’ve created a distinctive skill-development model that trains rural women in techniques like wet felting, nuno felting, natural dye extraction, and eco-dyeing. Instead of merely following instructions, the women are encouraged to design their own creations, expressing their individuality and artistry through every piece.
This process gives them something much deeper than income it gives them dignity, independence, and pride.
Many of these women come from difficult circumstances where their work was undervalued, their wages uncertain, and their voices unheard. Through IndiePracha, they now earn a stable livelihood, support their families, and rediscover their creative strength.
Every product that comes from our studio is original and one-of-a-kind, infused with the love, imagination, and resilience of the women who made it.
Our journey is just beginning one village at a time and we dream of empowering many more women across rural India to craft, create, and shine.
Handcrafted with love. Inspired by nature. Empowered by women.
